Our captains have been around Sandspit year-round for many years and have extensive knowledge and great respect for the local waters and fishing Queen Charlottes. They are true expert salmon fisherman and great at sharing their knowledge with anyone who comes aboard our vessels. They have a great passion for fishing Queen Charlottes in all capacities. While using proven angling techniques, we offer an easy-going approach and enjoy sharing our vast knowledge of the history of the area, making for a memorable experience on the water.

Captain Neil Goodwin

Born into a family of chronic sport fishermen, Neil started his guiding career on BC’s north coast in 1995. Over the years he’s worked for some of the biggest names in the industry and built a reputation as one of the hardest working guides on the water. Constantly fine tuning his techniques he’s developed methods for success that could only come from experience and a deep passion for the sport. With the ability to put you on the fish no matter what the conditions, Neil prides himself on sending his guests back to the lodge with sore arms and huge grins. Neil is a wealth of information on Haida Gwaii’s diverse marine eco system, its abundant wildlife and especially the fish that swim through it.
